About Me

Who am I?

I love reading, learning, writing, and building things.

Reading is my biggest hobby and you’ll find what I’m currently reading here along with a list of my favorite books.

Learning is why I read most of the time. It’s also probably the reason I like writing and building things.

Writing is another big hobby, see the list on the home page. I also have a newsletter if you want to follow along. Ocasionally, I write on Mastodon, X, LinkedIn, and Medium.

Building things is my biggest hobby. Writing is part of it, but programming is what I’ve done the most and also what I do for a living.

Career

First 8 years at EA

I worked 8 years at Electronic Arts (EA). First on Battlefield, mostly engine-parts of JavaScript-based user interfaces. Later at Frostbite to improve build speeds. Last on JavaScript-based user interfaces again, but now as a tech lead for cross-game social user interfaces.

C++, Frostbite, JavaScript, Bazel, Python, project planning, …

Short stint at Epic Games

After EA, I worked 2 years at Epic Games on user interfaces in the Unreal Editor. Mostly focusing on menus and toolbars the their underlying systems.

C++, Unreal, Python, …

Back at EA

Now back at Electronic Arts and DICE and Battlefield again. This time around, instead of in-game user interfaces, I’m focusing on green builds to improve development stability for the entire game team and the quality of the end product.

Also very excited about how generative AI could help in various ways here!

C++, Frostbite, Python, JavaScript, n8n, LLMs, project planning…
